The I&E Center, STEM Ed Center, Global Lab, Humanities & Arts and Fire Protection Engineering are hosting a Solve-a Thon as part of Arts and Sciences Week on Preventing Amazon Forest Fires. In this design thinking workshop, participants will apply a human-centered design approach to develop creative solutions and highlight the complexity of the issues (technical and non-technical) surrounding the prevention of Amazon forest fires. With an emphasis on their connectedness (i.e. Climate Change, Farming, Logging, Environment, Politics, Ethics). We will bring together the WPI Community, artists, K12 students/teachers, entrepreneurs, and the Worcester Community to unfold the fire scene, by engaging them in hands-on activities culminating with prototyping an art representation/story of your solution.
The top three teams of the Solve-a-Thon will be awarded prizes.
