Experts on Data Analytics

Broadly speaking, data analytics, a field within data science, involves the processing of raw data to search for patterns and trends. The tools of analytics can be used to answer questions, to explore current and historical patterns, and to make predictions about future trends. When applied to massive data sets, known as big data, data analytics has become a powerful tool with many industries, including economics and finance, medicine and healthcare, and the social sciences. WPI experts on data analytics have used its techniques to research human trafficking and disrupt wildlife trafficking, to combat misinformation online, and to screen voice recordings for signs of depression.
