Student Employee of the Year Award

Working in WPI’s Makerspace since his first year, Evan Carmody has grown from a Prototyping Lab Assistant into the lead student technician and head of the entire Makerspace student leadership team. Known for his technical expertise and people‑first leadership style, Evan is described by his nominator as someone who “doesn’t just manage; he mentors,” creating an environment where students feel supported and empowered. His care for both people and projects embodies WPI’s project‑based mission and leaves a lasting impact on everyone who walks through the Makerspace doors.
