At WPI, our community values the dedication of our employees, so we want to make sure we recognize and honor the work they do. Faculty and staff can be nominated for various awards and prizes. We also like to show appreciation through departmental celebrations and through broader events like the Harvest of Thanks hosted by Staff Council, the Faculty Honors Convocation, and the annual Employee Recognition Dinner.

Celebrating Employee Milestones 2025

Talent & Inclusion thanks and celebrates employees who have achieved important milestones in 2025. From employees who have been with WPI for 10 years to those who have reached 50 years of employment with the university, their dedication is appreciated.

Long Service: Valuing Experience and Expertise

At WPI, we take great pride in our long-service employees. Employees are recognized at five-year intervals, beginning after the completion of ten years of service. In each year that a long-service anniversary is celebrated after fifteen years, an additional week of vacation will be added to annual vacation accrual for that year. This anniversary vacation must be used within the fiscal year following the year in which the service anniversary occurs.

Ice Cream Social

Our annual Ice Cream Social offers an afternoon of socializing and celebrating our employees. Spot Award recipients, long service employees, and the recipients of our Trustees' Award for Outstanding Staff Member are recognized, along with additional shout-outs.
