Programs & Services
The Center for Well-Being offers programming that focuses on proactive and preventive approaches to foster resiliency and build a foundation so that all can flourish and thrive. Our integrative, evidence-based initiatives provide opportunities for members of the WPI community to create habits to support their holistic well-being.
CWB programs are offered in a variety of formats and settings so that individuals and groups can create their own well-being journey. Some programs are offered as drop-in group sessions while others require pre-registration.

Drop-In Programs
DIY Wednesdays

DIY Wednesdays are craft activities for you to de-stress and build social connections. They're in the CWB Program Room at 6-8pm every Wednesday (not the first and last Wednesdays of the term). Drop-by, relax, have fun, and create with your friends or make new friends!
Health Huts

The Health Hut Series promote wellness from a student lens where PWBAs share their passion for wellness and their best tips to ignite your own well-being. They are table-sittings with quick activities you can engage with in-between classes. We host 3-4 Health Huts each term at locations all over campus!
Mindful Wednesdays & Mindful Thursdays

Drop-in meditation sessions are open to the entire WPI community, and no experience is necessary. A certified meditation teacher will offer guided meditations appropriate for both beginners as well as experienced meditators. People can join in person or via zoom.
Mindful Wednesdays: 12:15PM to 12:35PM
Center for Well-Being, Daniels Hall 102E or Zoom: https://wpi.zoom.us/j/186050714
Mindful Thursdays: 2:15PM to 2:35PM
Center for Well-Being, Daniels Hall 102E or Zoom: https://wpi.zoom.us/j/186050714
Each Friday an email will be sent to the group called Mindfulness Tools To-Go which has information about meditations, poems from the week, and mindful resources. If you have questions or suggestions, please contact Robin Benoit, rbenoit@wpi.edu.
Study Hub
Every Thursday from 5PM to 7PM in our large conference room, Study Hub provides a drop in space for quiet, productive studying alongside peers. This is not a place for group work or tutoring, but rather a distraction-free environment to help you focus on your academic work in the company of others doing the same. Anyone is welcome to come – no pre-registration required!
Digital WellSort (Virtual)
WellSort is a digital wellness card sorting activity for WPI students and employees to get to know their own mental health and wellness priorities, connect with resources, and make small changes to improve their overall health. Learn more about WellSort.

Reiki

Reiki is a healing practice that helps to bring your energetic body into alignment. Humans have two body forms. One is our physical body supported by our spine, bones, organs. We also have an energetic body with a central column that runs along our spine called a Sushumna. This is where the seven main Chakras live as well as the Nadis, which are channels that bring energy out to the rest of our body. Both can become out of alignment. When your energetic body is unaligned you visit a Reiki Practitioner.
Sign up for a 15-minute Reiki session with certified Reiki master, Catherine Flayhan, as you experience healing in your whole-body by the gentle placement of the practitioner’s hands above or lightly on the receiver's body. Open to students, faculty, and staff.

Events
Signature Events
The CWB hosts one large-scale educational event on campus each term. Each signature event focuses on a specific health topic students most report wanting support on: mental health; parties, alcohol and other substances; sexual health; and sleep.
Wellness Days

Wellness Days are days built into the academic calendar once per term as days where there are no classes, no assignment due dates, no non-critical lab work, and no meetings. These are days for our community to focus on supporting and caring for ourselves as well as each other and feature a variety of ways to de-stress, relax, and connect with yourself and those around you throughout the day.
