Project-based Learning

• WPI is truly unique in our approach to project-based education.
• We have an extensive global projects program.
• In addition to WPI Project Centers around the world where ChE students go to complete junior-year projects, the ChE Department has Project Centers in Modesto, Ca, Shanghai and Beijing, China, Nancy, France, and Campinas, Brazil where Chemical Engineering students go and do research and development projects on-site during their senior year.  We also have many on-campus project opportunities where students work with faculty on interesting research projects as well as many process and product development projects sponsored by local industry.

Chemical Engineering Options

• Chemical Engineering offers areas of concentration within our major.
• We offer the option to obtain a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in five years or less.

Employment & Graduate School

• Our students have lots of opportunities for employment (including internships, co-ops, and full-time employment) with much demand from well-known companies as well as start-ups. 
• In addition, many of our students have been highly successful earning Master’s and PhD degrees at other graduate schools as well as our own.  
• Our Career Development Center's Post-graduation Report shows where our graduates went to work or graduate school and their average starting salaries
