Improve skills, confidence, and self-esteem and make new friends at one or more of WPI’s summer athletic camps:

Baseball 

Grade Level: Boys entering grades 2-11 
Cost: $295 (includes lunch and a t-shirt)
Dates: July 31 - August 4 

Learn the fundamentals of baseball and sharpen skills in a program that provides first-rate instruction for players of all levels.  Daily activities incorporate conditioning and hands-on instruction in all areas of hitting, throwing, fielding and strategy, with scrimmages designed to improve individual talents.

What to Bring?

  • A baseball glove is mandatory -  if you have other gear (batting helmet, bat), including specialized position equipment, please bring it!
  • If wearing cleats, please bring a pair of sneakers for indoor play during inclement weather and for the dining hall.
  • Water bottle and sunscreen for outdoor play
  • Bathing suit and a towel for the optional free swim
  • Campers may want to bring a change of clothes

Boys Basketball

Grade Level: Boys entering grades 2-11 
Cost: $250 (includes lunch, a t-shirt, and a basketball)
Dates: July 5-8 (4 days) or July 17-20 (4 days)

Through high-quality instruction on fundamentals and team concepts, participants will develop a deeper understanding of the game of basketball and refine their athletic skills.  Daily activities include drills, lectures, team practice, and game play.

What to Bring?

  • Basketball sneakers are recommended
  • On the first day of camp, participants will be issued a WPI basketball. We will provide markers for the camper to put name on the ball - please bring the ball to camp each day (we cannot provide replacements for lost balls)
  • Bathing suit and a towel for the optional free swim
  • Campers may want to bring a change of clothes

Co-ed Soccer

Grade Level: Entering grades 2-11 
Cost: $295 (includes lunch, a t-shirt, and a soccer ball)
Dates: July 24-28

Learn from leading college and high school coaches across the region as campers join with players of all levels to improve their soccer skills in a positive and enjoyable atmosphere.  Daily training includes practice of individual skills, small group tactics, group competition, and games.

What to Bring?

  • Shin guards are mandatory
  • 
If wearing cleats, please bring a pair of sneakers for indoor play during inclement weather and for the dining hall.
  • Water bottle and nut-free snack (non-perishable, no refrigeration available on fields)
  • Sunscreen for outdoor play
  • Bathing suit and a towel for the optional free swim
  • Campers may want to bring a change of clothes

Competitive Swimming

Grade Level: Entering grades 3-11
Cost: $325 (includes lunch)
Dates: July 10-14

Participants spend the week mastering the fundamentals of competitive swimming.  Each day focuses on a new competitive stroke, with the final day’s work covering starts, turns, and transitions.

What to Bring?

  • Bathing suit, goggles, and a swim cap for long hair
  • Two towels
  • Sneakers, shorts, and t-shirt for outdoor dry land exercises.
  • Water bottle and sunscreen for outdoor play

Field Hockey Camp

Grade Level: Girls entering grades 2-11
Cost: $295
​Dates: July 10-14                          

The drills and skills are designed to suit athletes of all levels.  Upper level skills/drills will challenge even the most talented players.  Basic skills/drills will be designed to help those athletes better themselves in all aspects of game of field hockey. 

What to Bring?

Football Skills Clinic

Grade Level: Boys entering grades 2-11
Cost:  $150
Dates: July 17-20 (4 days), 5-8 PM

Whether campers are just starting out, or preparing for high school pre-season, Pop Warner, or American Youth Football, WPI’s football camp will teach them the game of football the Engineers Way.  The nightly schedule includes position-specific training, offensively and defensively, as well as speed, quickness, and agility training.

What to Bring?

  • Football cleats are required
  • Mouthpiece (non-contact camp) is optional
  • Sneakers for indoor play in case of inclement weather
  • Water bottle and sunscreen

Girls Basketball

Grade Level: Girls entering grades 2-11
Cost: $295 (includes lunches, a t-shirt, and a basketball)
Dates: June 26-30

Improve basketball and teamwork skills in a fun and supportive environment.  Participants at all levels are welcome and daily activities include drills, lectures, team practice, and game play.

What to Bring?

Girls Volleyball

Grade Level: Girls entering grades 6-12
Cost: $295 (includes lunch)
Dates: August 7-11

Designed for players of all abilities, this camp will provide girls with a solid foundation in the individual skills and team concepts needed to progress to the next level in volleyball.

What to Bring?

  • Knee pads are mandatory
  • Water bottle and sunscreen for outdoor play
  • Bathing suit and a towel for the optional free swim period
  • Campers may want to bring a change of clothes

Recreation Camp

Grade Level: Entering grades 2-10
Cost: $295 (includes lunch)
Dates: July 17-21

This program is designed for campers who want a day filled with fun, structured activities, and a chance to meet new friends.  Participate in a variety of sports, games, arts & crafts activities, and special events.

Rowing

Grade Level:  Entering grades 8-12
Cost: $475 (includes lunch)
Dates: July 10-15 (Sat. 8-10am)
Location: Donahue Rowing Center, Shrewsbury

Held on Lake Quinsigamond, our rowing program offers instruction for high school athletes of all levels, from advanced skill development targeted toward competitive rowing to introduction of the basics.  Participants receive first-class instruction appropriate to their individual development, within a positive and enjoyable environment.

What to Bring?

  •  For Monday swim test, please bring a bathing suit and towel.
  •  Rowing unisuit or spandex-style shorts and t-shirt (loose clothing is not recommended)
  •  Socks, hat and/or bandana, sunscreen
  •  Water bottle and snacks
  •  Rain Jacket, change of clothes and a towel are recommended (showers are available at the Donahue Rowing Center and at WPI)

Softball

Grade Level: Girls entering grades 2-11  
Cost: $295 (includes lunch and a t-shirt)
Dates: July 10-14

Campers work on improving their softball game and become better teammates with expert instruction in a fun environment.  Covers the facts and fundamentals of the game and day-to-day plays, including hitting, throwing, fielding, pitching, catching, and base running. 

What to Bring?
