WPI’s Information Technology Services staff provide dedicated support and software for all of the library’s 100+ public computing stations, including wireless presentation sharing software in all library Tech Suites, and high-end workstations available in the Shuster Lab and Multimedia Lab.  We also partner with IT’s Academic Research Computing and Web App Development and Academic Integration to serve WPI faculty and students.

The library works closely with many other university partners. The library hosts an annual Sustainability Project Competition in collaboration with the Office of Sustainability; collaborates to offer diversity and inclusion resources to the students and staff of the university with the Division of Talent and Inclusion and the Office of Multicultural Affairs; and works closely with the Research Solutions Institute and the Morgan Teaching & Learning Center.  We benefit greatly from support from the Facilities Office in ongoing care for our building and in planning major and minor improvements to the library as a learning environment.

Beyond the WPI campus, Gordon Library is proud to partner with regional and national networks of library and information organizations, among them Eastern Academic Scholars' Trust (EAST)Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)LOEXLYRASISNetworked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD)Northeast Regional Libraries Consortium (NERL), National Information Standards Organization (NISO)Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC), and the Worcester Academic Research Collaborative (ARC).

  • Collectively negotiated licensing terms for information resources
  • National education and advocacy for equitable scholarly communications
  • Direct borrowing rights to the print collections of other Worcester academic libraries
