This message was sent to WPI students.
I wanted to share a video message that will be sent to many of your parents through the Parents & Friends newsletter tomorrow. My hope is they will do their part—and you will do yours—in remembering that we’re all in this together, our individual actions matter, and we all need to do what’s smart and right even when it’s hard.

The Pandemic is Not Relenting: An Appeal from President Leshin

This pandemic is getting worse. Cases are rising, and the inherent risks involved in upcoming holiday travel and gatherings are cause for concern. We must stay vigilant and keep doing all we can to slow the spread of COVID-19; one critical way to do so is through our holiday plans, but also through the decisions you make and actions you take regarding gatherings today, tomorrow, every day—especially the weekends and Thanksgiving break. If you said you were staying on campus for the holiday, please be true to your word.
It’s difficult, I know, especially around the holidays during an already difficult year, but your safety—the safety of our whole community—remains paramount. Help us to continue working through this year safely, thoughtfully, and most importantly, together.
Stay safe, be well.
