Presenter: Kate St. Ives, Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
Using case studies and stories as a high-impact teaching method has been relatively common in the sciences. This workshop will introduce an initiative to build a case study collection for use in engineering courses. I will explain the defining features of case studies, how they can be valuable teaching tools, the process for creating them, and how to use them. Participants will then work through a sample case study as though they are students, to get a sense of how to use them. The presentation will conclude with a discussion of where the case study initiative is headed and how to get involved, as well as with a question and answer opportunity.
Lunch will be provided to those who pre-register.
