Physics Department Colloquium “Enabling Discoveries: Applications of Scientific Cameras and Spectrographs” by Sebastian Remi Application Scientist – Princeton Instruments Associate

Monday, September 24, 2018
4:00 pm

Location:

Floor/Room #:

“Optical imaging and spectroscopy enable scientific discoveries in a wide range of fields: from the micro to nanoscale to studies of stars and galaxies, researching how to make combustion processes more efficient or measuring processes in living cells and bodies. Discoveries often depend on making precise and sensitive measurements of light. This talk will give an overview of current scientific cameras and spectrographs used for this cutting edge research and illuminate their applications with many examples from life science, nanotechnology to combustion and quantum science.”

Refreshments will be served in Olin Hall 118 at 3:30 P.M.
