Captain Cynthia L. Archambeau is the Recruiting Flight Commander, Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps Detachment 340. Captain Archambeau is responsible for recruiting, retention and mentorship of new students for Detachment 340 at the host institution of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, as well as the surrounding cross-town schools including Anna Maria College, Assumption College, Becker College, Clark University, College of the Holy Cross, Nichols College, Quinsigamond Community College, and Worcester State College. The detachment has a cadet corps of over 40 cadets.
Captain Archambeau graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, commissioned from the university’s Air Force ROTC Detachment 370, and has attained Systems Engineering Level III Certification. In 2012, she was assigned as an Acquisitions Systems Engineer at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. While at Aberdeen Proving Ground, she has served as the Lead Systems Engineer on the Joint Service Aircrew Mask for Strategic Aircraft program, which will provide chemical and biological protection and pressure breathing for altitude to 32,000 aircrew across 58 fixed wing platforms.
