Laura Kenney
Pronouns: She/Her/Hers As Associate Director of Academic Advising, I oversee the daily operations of the Academic Resources Center (ARC), a comprehensive peer tutoring program offering support in a wide variety of STEM subjects. In the ARC we offer one-on-one tutoring as well as Math and Science Help (MASH) group tutoring and review sessions. I also serve as an academic advisor to a caseload of undergraduate students and provide holistic academic support throughout each student’s time at WPI.
I found my calling in higher education after working with college student volunteers through the Best Buddies program. For more than fifteen years, I have worked in a variety of college student support positions including residential services, academic advising, and instructing first year transition courses. A college experience has the potential to be transformative when students get involved on campus, connect with faculty and staff members, engage in research and project work, meet new people, and discover their passions. Through my work in advising and the ARC, my goal is to help students make connections within the WPI community and develop the skills that will lead to their academic success. As an office we strive to provide outstanding academic support and to create an environment that is welcoming for all students. Outside of WPI, I enjoy skiing, hiking, entering running races for fun with no intention of winning, baking, and spending time with my family.
