I work with our industry partners and internal constituents to set a strategic direction for the Career Development Center (CDC) as part of WPI’s division of Academic and Corporate Engagement. We offer expert advice and services to help employers attract top talent and connect with the many resources at WPI. Students and alumni benefit from the CDC’s many connections to industry and our excellent career services and co-op programs.
I joined the CDC in 2013 after serving as director of career services at Mount Holyoke College, Gallaudet University, and American University. My professional experience includes extensive work with students and employers at Middlebury, Johns Hopkins, and Brown. I also led alumni relations at my alma mater, The Catholic University of America, and earned a master’s degree in college student personnel from the University of Maryland.
My favorite spot on campus is the fountain (not actually IN the fountain!), which is right outside our office, because there you can sense the vibrant campus life we have at WPI, the diversity of students crisscrossing their way to classes, projects, labs, meetings, work, you name it.
I facilitate the Career Coaching Intensive workshop offered by NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) at universities around the country, a great way to meet new colleagues and support our profession.
Let the marketplace decide, don’t count yourself out, instead do your best to design and implement a search strategy, get great advice from others, follow through, and see where it leads.
