Multi-Week Courses
MIEA Mindfulness Meditation
An evidence-based mindfulness curriculum designed for college-aged adults and appropriate for all. In this 4-week format, participants learn practical skills that help them manage stress and open their minds.
Offered during the summer and at various times during the academic year to graduate students, faculty, and staff. The next group will be in A-term with registration opening September 2!
ProjectConnect
Want to get to know colleagues outside of your office? Help build community on campus? ProjectConnect is a fun, 6-session peer-led program. Over the course of six weeks, participants discuss a series of thought-provoking questions, complete a mini connection project, and get together for a celebration.
Offered for faculty and staff during A-Term.
Student Support Network (SSN)
A six-week training course offered in collaboration with the SDCC that gives employees the skills to help students and colleagues in crisis or distress. Participants will discuss mental and emotional health, how to identify the warning signs of someone who’s struggling, resources to connect them to, and more. The main goal of the SSN is to expand and enrich the campus support network so that every member of the WPI community has someone looking out for them.
Offered for faculty and staff during A-Term.
Single-Session Trainings and Workshops
Recognizing and Responding to Students in Distress (RRSD)
This interactive, 90-minute mental health and awareness workshop offered in collaboration with the SDCC provides student data on student mental health, reviews the most prevalent student mental health issues and engages participants in practical conversation about how to support students in the moment as well as how and when to refer students to campus resources.
There are currently no open RRSD trainings for employees scheduled, but you can request an RRSD training for your group by emailing sdcc@wpi.edu.

Events
Wellness Days
Wellness Days are days for the entire WPI community to reflect, relax, reconnect, and reenergize as individuals and as a community.
These days aren't just for students! We recognize that Wellness Days may not looks the same for employees as they do for students in that not everyone on campus can take an entire day off because they’re responsible for critical operations that can’t be rescheduled but do hope that everyone can participate in part of the day. We encourage employees and their supervisors to work together to:
- Avoid scheduling work meetings.
- Offer opportunities for connection (employee lunch, team-building activity, etc.).
- Offer flexibility; for example, configure schedules to allow employees a chance to attend an event or two of their choosing while still having support to operate the office.
- Try to make a light schedule for the day – this is an opportunity to slow down and catch your breath.
