Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Darryl L. Gill is the Recruiting Operations Officer (ROO) and serves as the Scholarship and Enrollment Officer at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). CSM (R) Gill reported for active duty on 26 July 1983 at Fort Benning, Georgia for Infantry One Station Unit Training (OSUT). Mr. Gill has served in every Infantryman leadership position from Team Leader through Battalion Command Sergeant Major; to include Drill Sergeant, ROTC Senior Instructor, Battalion, Brigade and Division Operations Sergeant Major, Command Sergeant Major 215th Brigade Support Battalion and most recently Command Sergeant Major 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, 3d Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood Texas. His assignments include tours with 1-38 Infantry, 2ID, Camp Hovey, Korea; 1-39 Infantry, 8th ID (M), Germany; 56th Air Defense Artillery, FT Bliss, TX; 5-9 Infantry (Manchu’s), FT Wainwright Alaska; Ohio University (Bobcat Battalion), Athens, Ohio; 1-32 Infantry, 10th Mountain Division, FT Drum, NY; 1-506th Infantry, 2ID, Camp Greaves, Korea; 2-10 Infantry, 3rd Basic Combat Training Brigade, FT Leonard Wood, MO; Fifth U.S. Army, Emergency Operations Center, Department of Homeland Defense, FT Sam Houston TX; 1-12 Cavalry and 3HBCT, 1st Cavalry Division(OIF 06-08);1st Cavalry Division Headquarters(OIF 09-10), and the 215th Brigade Support Battalion, 3HBCT, 1st Cavalry Division (OIF 09-11). 1-12 Cavalry, FT Hood, TX (Operation New Dawn). CSM Gill earned an Associate’s Degree from the University of Phoenix and his military education includes Warrior Leader Course; Advance Leaders Course; Senior Leaders course; the First Sergeants Course and the Senior Enlisted Academy, United States Navy.His military awards and decorations include 1 Legion of Merit, 3 Bronze Star Medals, 6 Meritorious Service Medals, 2 Army Commendation Medals, 12 Army Achievement Medals, 9 Good Conduct Medals, 2 National Defense Service Medals, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal with 4 campaign stars, the Overseas Service Ribbon with the numeral 7; Multinational Force and Observer Medal, Army Superior Unit Award, 3 Meritorious Unit Awards, the Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, the Drill Sergeant Identification Badge and 6 Overseas Service Bars. Other honors awarded the Centurion Medal for the Order of Saint Maurice. CSM (R) Gill is a native of Springfield, Ohio and is married to the former Katrina Adams from Fenwick Island Delaware and they have six children ages 14 to 35.
Evelyn LaCroix joined the Bay State Battalion in July of 2008. She serves as a Human Resources Technician. Prior to her current position, she worked at US Army Cadet Command First Brigade, Fort Devens, as a Human Resources Specialist Mrs. LaCroix has worked for Army ROTC for almost thirty years.
Sharon Parry joined the Bay State Battalion in January of 2013. She serves as the Supply Technician. Prior to her current position, she worked at the University of Massachusetts Army ROTC Program as the Supply Technician. Mrs. Parry has worked for the Army for almost twenty-seven years, of that fifteen years was with the Army ROTC.
Kim Richardson Adams joined the Bay State Battalion in July of 2010. She serves as the Administrative Assistant for MAJ Heppe. Ms. Richardson has worked at WPI for almost twenty years, with expertise in student academic management as well as student support services. Outside of the office, Ms. Richardson is a Certified Holistic Health Coach. She enjoys spending time with loved ones, practicing yoga, dance and hanging out by the lake with her Golden Retrievers.
