Vera Tice is the Managing Director and co-founder of the Healthcare Delivery Institute (HDI) at WPI. She is responsible for the overall strategy and leadership of the Institute. Tice’s career has been focused on healthcare and medical innovation, both in the U.S. and globally, and enabling personalized, connected healthcare. She has an accomplished record of building, leading, advising, and driving change and results in technology businesses exploring and bringing healthcare innovations from concept to market. She is also an industry expert and advisor to private, public, and government organizations in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom who are investing in innovation and research to advance healthcare and improve human health. Tice joined WPI from industry in 2011 to startup, grow, and lead the new university-wide, interdisciplinary healthcare delivery research and innovation institute. Prior to WPI, she held executive-level, senior management, and engineering leadership positions at both startup and Global 500 technology companies in the healthcare, medical device, and mobile telecommunications industries and led her own consulting business. These include two startups in the digital health and home health, hospice, and private duty care space, Hewlett Packard’s Medical Products Group (now Philips Healthcare), and Nokia. Tice holds a master of science in electrical engineering with a computer engineering concentration from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a bachelor of engineering with high honor in electrical engineering with a computer engineering concentration from Stevens Institute of Technology. She is a Senior Member of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and was recognized by Stevens Institute of Technology with the Harold R. Fee ’20 Stevens Alumni Achievement Award.

Christopher R. Lambert, Ph.D. is a Research Associate Professor with appointments both in the Bioengineering Institute and the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department. He is the Associate Director of the WPI Bioengineering Institute. He is co-founder of Active Surface Technologies a research company dedicated to the development of specialized molecular films. Carolina Ruiz

Carolina Ruiz's research interests are in data mining, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. Together with her graduate and undergraduate students, colleagues in computer science and biology, and medical doctors, Ruiz investigates and develops data mining algorithms for genomics and for clinical medicine.
