A key aspect of Shari’s educational philosophy is that teaching should support students in their discovery of their interests and passions and facilitate their skill and content acquisition through engaging, collaborative courses. In her role as director of the Teacher Preparation program, she seeks to inspire, engage and prepare WPI undergraduates to bring their passion to the k-12 classroom as STEM educators. Shari brings her many years of middle and high school STEM teaching experience as she mentors and guides teacher candidates through the program and licensure process.
